Not too sure why, but this season of comedies and dramas alike seem to follow the receipt of sad endings which would earn the curses of "happy ending" advocates, but keep them coming back for more. But it still doesn't stop you from feeling the rush of mixed emotions that come after watching the episodes or listening to the soundtracks.
If you followed thru the two seasons of "How I met your mother", you would have felt such a pang when Ted and Robin finally decided that it was for the best that they end the relationship owing to their different expectations. But what happened to the feelings they had then when they took the entire season 1 trying to get together? B-ism: Are feelings fleetingly temporal, with no regard of past emotions, jus present circumstances?
Grey's Anatomy Season 3 had a really powerful ending with the most appropriate song to go with it. Found it after scouting around but you really gotta watch the finale to fully appreciate its depth. It's by Ingrid Michaelson, called "Keep Breathing". Enjoy (oh btw, you have to click the play button twice for the music to start...dun ask me why, it just is).
